Andermatt Responsible clean-up evening: tidying up what the snow has released
Around 30 employees from Andermatt Swiss Alps, Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG, Hotel The Chedi Andermatt and the Snowsports School Andermatt met in the late afternoon of 7 May to collect rubbish together in and around their workplaces. Because after the snow melts, it becomes clear what has been left behind during the winter. Afterwards, the participants warmed up over pizza and took the opportunity to get to know their colleagues from the other teams and companies better.
It rained cats and dogs all morning and the temperatures were low. Not the best conditions for volunteering in the field. In the afternoon, however, the rain gave way to fog, making the conditions a little more favourable. Almost 30 employees of the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group and Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG were not deterred by the cold and wet. They came together to beautify the terrain in Andermatt Reuss and at the larger car parks of the mountain railways.
Wind and carelessness lead to rubbish
Equipped with work gloves and rubbish bags, four groups set off into the area. One group cleaned up the riverbanks, another cleared litter along the hiking trails and two larger teams went into the terrain and across the car parks. Much of the rubbish must have been carried away by the wind during the winter. However, a lot was also simply left lying around or disposed of carelessly. Once again, countless cigarette butts and snus bags were collected.

With the Andermatt Responsible initiative, the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group and Andermatt-Sedrun Sport AG are promoting climate-friendly and sustainable tourism in the region.
